About Inotera
Incorporated on January 23rd, 2003, Inotera Memories, Inc. is a joint venture between Nanya Technology Corporation (an affiliate of the Formosa Plastics Group) and Micron Technology, Inc..
Inotera provides DRAM foundry services on 300mm silicon wafers and currently has two inter-connected 300mm fabrication facilities with a combined capacity of approximately 130 thousand wafer starts per month. According to the supply agreement between Inotera and its customers, Micron and Nanya Technology, all of Inotera’s manufacturing capacity will be reserved for these two customers on an equal basis, and Inotera sells its products to them according to a contractually defined pricing formula. Inotera is designed to focus on operational excellence in mass production to manufacture DRAM memory products with high quality using state-of-the-art technology and to leverage its economies of scale in order to maximize its cost efficiency.
Inotera has completed its full conversion to 42nm technology in September 2011, and launched pilot runs of 30nm technology in mid-August with very successful results. The company has achieved shipment qualification of its 4Gb DDR3 DRAM product in 30nm process technology and started the volume ramp in March, 2012. Through successful implementation of this technology conversion, Inotera expects further significant bit shipment growth and impressive per-bit cost reduction. Moreover, Inotera is targeting to provide high-end DRAM products to fulfill customers’ needs. The company is focusing on increasing its non-PC DRAM share like mobile and server DRAM products based on advanced technology.
Inotera is confident that the company's strengths in operational excellence, cost efficiency and adoption of advanced technologies will keep the company in a leading position as one of the most productive semiconductor manufacturers worldwide. Together, the Board of Directors and the management team of Inotera Memories will keep striving to enhance the competitiveness of the company and to create value for the shareholders.
