RUAG ELECTRONICS - TRAINING AND SIMULATION FOR THE LAND FORCES
RUAG Electronics has a long history of supplying high-quality electronics, communications and optics solutions for the armed forces. Specializing in the field of training and simulation, RUAG Electronics' Simulation & Training division offers a range of products extending from computer-based training programs through full-mission simulators and one- and two-way laser-based tactical engagement simulators up to scaleable, fully integrated synthetic training environments for force-on-force exercises. RUAG, responsible for the maintenance of all simulators used by the Swiss Army, has also developed a computer-based diagnostics program that can be tailored to support virtually any complex electronics system.
SIMULATION & TRAINING DIVISION - CAPABILITIES
RUAG Electronics' Simulation & Training division is a main competitor on the international combat training centre market, and for decades has been the Swiss Armed Forces' preferred partner in the field of simulation and training. To support this partnership RUAG has built up a capability in all aspects of military training, from the development of a training concept through to the delivery of turnkey systems, operated and maintained by RUAG personnel.
FULL MISSION TRAINERS
RUAG's expertise extends to advanced full-mission simulators with and without computer-generated forces (CGF). A BMP-3 tactical simulator up to squadron level and a Howitzer Crew Trainer are examples of delivered systems. The latter, in service with the Swiss Army, permits realistic exercises involving a single turret crew or even a complete battery (with or without fire direction centre). Training covers all common tactical and firing procedures, such as direct and indirect firing, and is extremely cost-effective.
COMBAT TRAINING CENTRE
The CODARTS includes a number of unique technologies designed to overcome the weaknesses associated with first-generation instrumented weapons effect simulation systems. Examples of these technologies include GPS-independent location determination, realistic battlefield representation of indirect fire and C.O.E.L.'s patented Target Discrimination System (TDS).
Thanks to the CODARTS' advanced data processing and communications techniques, a full exercise can typically be conducted by two or three operators. This reduces the overall cost of training dramatically, and also enables RUAG to offer a fully transportable Combat Training Centre.

Combat Training Centre CODARTS. CODARTS is a high fidelity combat training system bringing your battlefield training very close to reality.
COMBAT TRAINING FOR MOUT (Military Operation in Urban Terrain)
With RUAG's MOUT training system, armed forces can be prepared efficiently for deployment in urban terrain. The system ensures the interaction of all weapons and buildings used in a MOUT environment. The integrated positional tracking system is independent of GPS, allowing combat inside buildings to be monitored and recorded.
With RUAG's MOUT training system, combat training does not end at the city limits!
